The automotive industry has fallen behind the smartphone in terms of features and functionality because innovation is too slow, time-to-market is too long and there's very little software reuse. Automotive companies are now in the software business and are adopting open source to drive the industry forward.

Dan Cauchy, Executive Director of Automotive Grade Linux (AGL) at The Linux Foundation, will provide an overview of AGL milestones and the project roadmap and will also discuss the benefits of adopting an open source approach and the impact on product development.
